Having More Courage

“The Bible says to ‘fear not,’ but this doesn’t mean you should never feel scared. It means when you do feel fear, keep going forward and do what you are supposed to do. Or as I like to say, do it afraid.” –Joyce Meyer

Courage: The ability to do something that frightens one. Courage takes a lot of guts! The one question that enters my mind when I think about the definition of courage is: “What if we felt pulled to do something but didn’t go after it because we felt scared to do it or don’t feel like we are capable enough to do it?” I know this question has come across my mind many times and because of that I have missed out on some things in my life.

I remember reading the quote I opened up with about a few years back. I’ve held on to that quote it really has encouraged me to go after the things I love even if I feel scared or feel like there is an obstacle in the way. If we keep backing away from opportunities it only weakens us. If we press forward and do it even if we feel scared it will help strengthen us and every time we do this our courage will grow stronger.

It’s ok to be nervous or scared about something but don’t let it stop you there. You’ll discover a stronger you and you’ll start to feel like you can do a lot more and that fear will become less the more you face it head on.
