What defines you as a person? Who are you?

My identity is found in Christ. Without Him I would be lost. Some of my passions I believe God has given me are working with kids, writing, and encouraging others.

What is your personal motto?

Think big, dream BIGGER. To me, that means going after my passions and dreams.

Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

I’m a little bit of both. Mostly introvert, I’m shy at first around people but once I really start to get to know you then I’m able to open up more and I’m a lot of fun to be around J

What is your biggest fear?

Not pursing the calling God has on my life.

What is your biggest dream?

To live on purpose for a purpose, pursing the dream I feel God has placed on my life, working with kids encouraging them to chase after their passions and dreams.

What motivates you?

God, my family, and my close friends.

What makes you happy?

I love being outdoors, that’s my happy place J and spending quality time with family and friends.

If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?

Not let the bullies I faced in school bother me. I would stand up for myself.

Where do you see yourself within five years?

I see myself working my dream job and traveling more.

What do you do outside of Defying Shadows?

I start a new job soon working with a children’s program that I’m looking forward too. I journal and read often and even write my own blog. You can check it out at https://krystyns.wordpress.com/ 🙂

What does “defying shadows” mean to you?

When I think of defying shadows, one word really sticks out to me…Hope. I love that fact that it doesn’t only help me but it helps others, and that has been encouraging for me knowing that we are making a difference!

Krystyn Slauenwhite works within her family business Sojourn Signs in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Some of her passions include writing, working with kids, being with family and friends and traveling. She is continuing to further her interest in the business world.
