You drew near on the day I called on You,
And said, “Do not fear!”

Lamentations 3:57

Lamentations 3:57 is a beautiful reminder that God is here for us. When we are afraid or apprehensive, when we are lost or lonely, when disappointment falls upon us, or when life throws us a curveball that smashes right into our faces, He is right there. He wants to help us through our fears and apprehensions. He wants to navigate us through our treacherous journey of loneliness, He wants to be that light that shines out to us when we are lost. God wants to take our trials and use them as teachable moments, to grow us into the individuals that He purposed us to be.

He will be there to carry us through whatever we encounter. All that is required of us is to cry out to Him, to call on Him in our time of need. He is not a God of force. He allows us to make our own choices. Therefore, we must CHOOSE to call out to Him. We must CHOOSE to believe what His word promises. We must CHOOSE to let Him work in our lives. When we do, He draws near, giving us that comfort and security we need, providing the shelter we long for, being that source of direction and guidance that gets us safely through our trial, and filling us with that love and assurance that can only come from our Father in Heaven.

When the storms come, cry out to Him. When uncertainty plagues you, cry out to Him. When fear stops you in your tracks, cry out to Him. When insecurity binds you and keeps you from being all that you can be, cry out to Him. Call on Him and He promises to draw near to you. Call on Him and you will no longer have to live a life of fear. He is the slayer of fear and the giver of confidence to those who believe in His mighty name.
