#FEARLESS365 is a yearlong study of God’s commandment to us to live without fear. For 365 days, we will focus on one scripture and volunteers from all over the world will share their personal thoughts and what God has shared with them on the specific verse. For more info… go here.
So now I have determined to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid…
This verse is a continuation of a statement that was given by the Prophet Zechariah in the previous verse concerning what the Lord will do for his children if they would obey.
This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Just as I had determined to bring disaster on you and showed no pity when your ancestors angered me,” says the LORD Almighty. Zechariah 8:14.
Beforehand there was a time of fear and trepidation as God was ready to punish his children because of what their forefathers had done. However, God doesn’t want them to be afraid as He is promising to do good things for His people.
I can compare this scripture to many of the people that are going through situations that are seemingly fearful. Although they have accepted Christ in their heart they fear they will not be able to defeat addictions or wrong thinking. Many of these things were brought on by what their family has done in the past. Also, there are many that are experiencing great fear because of the times we are living in.
But there is a promise for the people of God.
This verse is a promise to be totally free from it all. This is a promise to restore all to a place of blessing and of peace.
Haven’t you heard of generational curses? Well, there are generational blessings. I believe that God wants to restore generational blessings for those who will obey Him. This verse can be used to encourage you as you are seeking to be free from fear or free from anything that has you feeling bound.
So do not be afraid as you live your life. Continue to obey the Word of God. Continue to obey His commands.
