They all lose heart; they come trembling from their strongholds.
2 Samuel 22:46
2 Samuel 22 is a psalm of praise, as where David has walked with God, the Lord has blessed him richly in his conquests. Similarly, for those who do not walk with God, their plans will not succeed. They feared David, and had to submit and be obedient to him.
As I struggled with post postpartum blues these past few months, I have finally started feeling better these past two weeks. While reading this verse (and 2 Samuel), I found peace at heart, being reminded that God is always with me, and He would bless us richly as we walk in the path He has set for us.
I am also reminded that while the Lord will always strengthen us, He would resists the proud and haughty, and those who do not walk with Him. We do not need to fear people who do not yet follow the Lord, and to proclaim His name loudly whenever we can. Also, at times, we may drift away from God due to the “daily hustles”, and this is a timely reminder, that in this busy world, we need God in our lives.
