Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

Romans 8:35

I believe that many times when we ask a question, we already know the answer but are looking for confirmation, validation or permission. I believe this because revelation, wisdom and instruction are readily available within us through the power of the Holy Spirit.  And when it comes to the word of God and His relationship with us and love for us, there is proof positive from Genesis to Revelation that nothing and no one can separate us from the love of Christ. That knowledge is confirmed in verse 37, which tells us that we are empowered to conquer any and everything through Christ’s love.

Pondering questions is good, even when we know the answer, because it provides an opportunity to delve deeper beyond the surface of a possible one word answer.  And in the instance of spiritual matters, strengthen our faith through the process of investigation.

In writing my reflections about this scripture, I am reminded that Father God’s love for us was so great He provided a redemption plan before we were even created.  We were born with a failsafe loophole to deliver us from destruction. Christ’s love is so enduring that while we were yet sinners, He suffered inhumane horrors and gave His life that we would live forever.  There is no greater love that can or will ever be experienced on this side of heaven by anyone in our lives, at least not with the same results. You can’t even get family to talk to one another when they feel they’ve been wronged.

The Holy Spirit is ever present making intercession for us and interpreting our moaning when we don’t even know what to pray. So, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?” No, nothing, nada, zilch, zero… There is power in His name – Jesus! We are undergirded, surrounded and completely supported in overcoming and escaping the dangerous snares of the adversary if we seek to be delivered, resist the devil and watch him flee. The instructions are written within our hearts, minds, and spirits as well as in the Bible to be brought into remembrance if we study to show ourselves approved and hide the word within. Give the Holy Spirit something to work with and He will work it out for us.

For me this is a reminder that there is nothing in this realm or the next that trumps the power God entrusted to us unless we forget who we are in Him and allow the enemy to gain ground; and even then, we are more than conquerors through God’s love. I am to remember the powerful fearfully and wonderfully made creation that He created me to be and ‘Act Like I Know’ at all times.
