Nor of the onslaught of the wicked when it comes;
For the LORD will be your confidence
And will keep your foot from being caught.
Proverbs 3:25-26
This chapter is guidance from God for the young, and indeed for all children of the living God whatever their age. I sure need it even at my age. God is trying to shape our character in these two verses so that we have a good attitude towards our fellow man. When we are in situations with people who are immoral, not to be trusted and they are trying to ruin us. God is giving us good advice on how to handle the situation. When wicked people are trying to undermine our character, whether it be by gossip, lies, stealing, spreading rumours or breaking the law. We have to stand firm in righteousness for what we believe and how we should live out our lives. To be a good example
This can be scary when you are up against it. Pressure and intimidation can be hard to live with and to stand firm against when your personal values are in the minority.
Our God says: “Do not be afraid of sudden terror, (fear) nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes. For the Lord God will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.” NKJV. He will protect you. Fear !!! Terror !!! When I think of all the atrocities that are going on in this world, I quake in my boots. In my heart I wonder if I would be strong enough to stand firm in a desperate situation. How would I be able to overcome my fear ? God says he will be my confidence and I should lean on him. God is my strength and I should stand firm on the scriptures and his promises.
O God give me a mind and a memory that I am able to soak up memory verses to hold me in good stead. I pray for this, because I do not have the mind and memory needed. Lord , hear my prayer. When I climb on to your lap Daddy and tell you what is in my heart. You wrap your loving arms around me and embrace me, and give me the wisdom to have a good attitude towards those who are not on the right path. Not to be judgemental, (I struggle with this) but to have hope that they will see Jesus in me and to want what I have. Thank you God for all the blessings I receive.
