Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.
1 Kings 17:13
This verse is telling me that the Lord will provide, even if I feel I have nothing he will show me through my faith and obedience in him and his power that he will make a way. When we are afraid it is easy to lose faith in God and remember that in him all things are possible.
This verse has meaning to me because when I look back at my life there have been times of struggle and times where I’ve felt I didn’t have what I needed whether it be financially, emotionally or otherwise. When I look back at those times I realize that God provided for me, maybe not at the time or in the way that I thought but he provided and I was never alone.
The amazing thing I’ve learned in my life that even when I have fallen away and lost faith, somehow God shows me that I need to come back to him. He is always there with open arms and has accepted me back into his arms many times without fail and even if I wasn’t living or abiding by his word, I still believed and I was never alone.
I have always gotten through the tough times whatever they have been, and even when a tragedy strikes God shows me why eventually. We all need to remember to be obedient, have faith and trust God. He has a plan and when Satan rears his ugly head turn to God and ‘He will provide’ and never forsake any of his children which is all of us.
