#FEARLESS365 is a yearlong study of God’s commandment to us to live without fear. For 365 days, we will focus on one scripture and volunteers from all over the world will share their personal thoughts and what God has shared with them on the specific verse. For more info… go here.

In righteousness you will be established: Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you.

Isaiah 54:14

This scripture follows the pattern of many in that it gives an instruction, and then a promise if I do what is asked. The instruction is that if I am righteous, and I follow his teachings and commandments I will not fear and I will be protected. Like all promises from our Heavenly Father, I know that he will hold up his end of the deal if I do my part. God keeps all of his promises! He wants to give us more than we could ever imagine, we just need to follow him.

I love that I was given a verse from Isaiah, because for me it is one of the most challenging in scripture study. I was very nervous once I saw that my verse was in Isaiah, but once I looked it up and saw this beautiful scripture, I was excited to write about my thoughts on it.  So this was a good experience for me, and a step towards me becoming more comfortable with Isaiah as well.

I feel that through this verse, God is telling me that if I trust in him and I follow his teachings I will not fear, and he will take care of me. This doesn’t mean that everything will be sunshine and rainbows, that I won’t experience pain. That isn’t the purpose of this life we have been given. This verse promises me strength if I rely on him. Strength to handle anything that life throws at me, any challenges I might experience and any heart break. I will have the power that I need to be as perfect a mother and wife as I can possibly be. For me, strength means that I will have the Holy Ghost with me to guide me in this life. The Holy Ghost can protect me, guide me, and be my constant companion. This verse is a wonderful reminder to me that my Heavenly Father loves me.
